Scope and operator

This Policy applies to the ListenCat mobile application, website, and related services (together, the “Service”), which may be available globally. ListenCat is a service of Hunai LLC. Information we collect and handle

The information involved depends on the features you choose to use and may include:

Account and profile information

If you create an account, we may collect your email address, name if provided, account identifier, authentication method, onboarding responses, profile details, preferences, and synced settings. If you sign in through another provider, we receive only the account information that provider makes available with your permission. We do not receive the password you use with that provider.

Content, library, and listening information

We may handle the content you choose to listen to, basic library details, reading progress, bookmarks, listening history, voice and playback choices, language, and other reader preferences. This information is used to generate audio, provide playback, sync supported settings, and remember your place.

Purchases and subscriptions

We may receive purchase and subscription information such as your plan, product identifier, subscription status, transaction status, price, currency, renewal state, and entitlement to paid features. Payment details such as a full card number are handled by the app marketplace or payment provider and are not provided directly to Hunai LLC.

Usage and interaction information

We may collect information about how you use ListenCat, including app launches, screens viewed, buttons or features used, searches, imports, playback activity, onboarding steps, notification interactions, purchase-flow events, and the dates and times of those actions.

Where enabled and permitted, we may use interaction recordings to understand usability problems. These recordings may include screens, navigation, taps, gestures, logs, and content visible while you use the app. We use safeguards designed to limit sensitive information and provide consent or choices where required by law or platform rules.

Device, diagnostics, and approximate location

We may collect device and app identifiers, advertising identifiers where permission allows, device type, operating system, app version, language, country or approximate location, network and performance information, crash reports, error logs, and diagnostic information. We do not collect precise location unless a feature clearly requests it and you give any required permission.

Support and communications

If you contact us, we may collect your email address, message, attachments you choose to provide, account identifier, and basic app or device details needed to investigate and respond to your request.

Third-party reading services

If you choose to use content from a supported third-party reading service, that provider controls your account, purchases, and access to its content under its own terms and privacy policy. ListenCat does not intentionally collect or store passwords for those services.

Cookies and similar technologies

The ListenCat website and web-based features may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep users signed in, remember preferences, understand usage, protect the Service, and support payments. You may control certain technologies through your browser or device settings, although disabling them may affect some features.

How information is used

Information is used only as reasonably necessary to:

• create and manage accounts and authenticate users;
• generate audio and provide playback, progress, syncing, and reader preferences;
• provide free and subscription features and confirm access to purchases;
• improve reliability, performance, and the user experience;
• understand feature usage and diagnose crashes, errors, and usability problems;
• measure promotions, installations, and subscription campaigns;
• send service messages or notifications when you allow them;
• respond to support, privacy, or legal requests;
• protect the Service, users, and third parties from abuse or security threats; and
• comply with applicable law and app-store requirements.

Audio generation

When you ask ListenCat to generate audio, the selected content is processed only as needed to provide the requested audio and playback features. Depending on the feature you choose, processing may be performed on your device or with the help of a service provider.

Do not submit content that you are not permitted to process. Generated audio may be stored on your device to improve playback and avoid generating the same audio repeatedly.

When information reaches other services

Depending on what you use, information may be handled by:

• Account and cloud-service providers: to support sign-in and synced settings;
• Reading-service providers: when you choose to access content from their services;
• Audio-generation providers: when their services are needed to create requested audio;
• App marketplace and payment providers: to distribute the app and process purchases;
• Analytics, diagnostics, and attribution providers: to measure usage, stability, performance, and marketing results;
• Communication providers: to deliver requested support or service messages; and
• Operational providers: to host, deliver, secure, and maintain the Service.

These providers operate under their own terms or privacy policies and may process information in other countries. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect legal rights or safety, or as part of a business reorganization, subject to appropriate safeguards and notice where required.

Hunai LLC does not sell personal information for money. We may disclose limited identifiers, purchase or subscription events, and app-interaction information to measure advertising and marketing performance. Some privacy laws may define this as “sharing” or targeted advertising. Where required, we will provide a way to opt out and will honor applicable device permissions and privacy choices.

Links to other services

ListenCat may contain links to or integrations with services operated by third parties. Hunai LLC does not control those services, and their handling of information is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We encourage you to review those policies before using a third-party service.

Storage, retention, and deletion

Generated audio remains on your device until you clear it using the app’s controls, clear the app’s data, or uninstall the app. Library information, reading progress, and preferences remain until you remove them where that option is available, clear the app’s data, or uninstall the app. When you use a clear or remove control, the affected information is deleted from storage controlled by the app on that device.

Account information and synced settings are generally kept while your account remains active. You may request account deletion through the app where available or by emailing us. When an account is deleted, we delete or de-identify the information connected to it, unless limited retention is reasonably necessary for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or financial recordkeeping.

Usage, diagnostics, attribution, support, and transaction records are kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, subject to provider settings and applicable law. Information held independently by another provider is subject to that provider’s retention and deletion policy. Account deletion does not automatically cancel a subscription managed by an app marketplace or another payment provider.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect information handled by the Service. Network transmission and local storage can never be guaranteed completely secure. Keep your device, operating system, third-party accounts, and device passcode secure. Avoid using sensitive content with a feature that relies on an external provider unless you are comfortable with that processing.

Your choices and privacy rights

You can:

• choose device-based options where offered;
• clear generated audio using the app’s controls;
• clear app storage or uninstall the app to remove locally stored app data;
• manage notification and tracking permissions through your device settings;
• delete your account through the app where available or request deletion by contacting us;
• manage third-party account information directly with the relevant provider; and
• contact us to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, or to receive a portable copy of personal information. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. We may need to verify your request.

Children’s privacy

ListenCat is a general-audience service and is not specifically designed or marketed for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. Parents and guardians should supervise a minor’s use of the Service. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Hunai LLC in a way that requires parental consent, contact us so we can address it.

Amazon and Kindle independence

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as the Service, third-party requirements, or applicable law changes. We will post the revised version and update the effective date. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent where required. A new policy will not reduce rights that applicable law does not allow us to waive.
